A Momtog Meet-up with Michelle Ma Belle Photography, Ottawa ON
We snapped. We chatted. We had FUN!
Did you know that my photography workshop students get hands on lessons too? No better way to learn than to practice! The photography meet-ups are seasonal and all my students, past and present, are invited to join.
Last week I held a spring meet-up where my students could follow me around, ask questions and see how I work with light - and busy families!
Mommy & Me Models
I select “model” families for these meet-ups to give students the full experience and test out their skills on moving targets. And these cuties definitely did not sit still! It was such a lovely sunny evening and the girls enjoyed running through the gardens – and away from the camera haha Oh well, I still managed to get a few keepers!
Beginner Photography Class for Moms
Just in case you’re curious, my photography workshop is called Snap & Chat: Momtogs Unite. It is geared for all the moms out there who want to take better and more creative photos of their children but don’t really know how to use their fancy camera. I cover camera basics, how to use light, and how to get away from those cheesy smiles. If you’re interested in learning more, you can find a full course outline here. The next round of classes are June 3 & 10, from 10AM-12PM.
One of the best parts about teaching these classes is watching my students get super excited about using their camera again! It’s so rewarding to see them develop their skills and that passion for photography.
"It is really incredible how moving over two feet changed the lighting. It's one thing to read about lighting but totally another to see the impacts in person. Highly recommend the learning session we had to anyone."
