Family Lifestyle Portrait Session at Dominion Arboretum, Ottawa
A Family Lifestyle Portrait Session with Michelle Ma Belle Photography
Mother Nature finally played nicely and we had a gorgeous evening to enjoy a family portrait session at the Dominion Arboretum. In all my visits to this location, I never realized that there is a little island tucked away in heart of the park. With it's rustic bridge and benches, stunning willow trees, and surrounding duck-filled ponds, it was magically picture perfect.
I'm Not Photogenic
I often hear clients say, "I'm not photogenic", and to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of how I look in photographs either. However, when I'm with my family, interacting, enjoying the moment and not focussed on the camera, my personality shines through - and THAT is photogenic.
This family was so chill in front of the camera and the smiles came easily. They loved snuggling up with each other, making each other giggle, and enjoying their time together as a family, which came through in their photos. Their family portraits are full of smiles, love and laughter.
The Most Challenging Subject
In my experience, the most challenging subject to work with tends to be Dad. Sure kids of all ages can give me a run for my money (and a great pay check to my chiropractor) but Dads can be a bit of a road block at times. They aren't typically thrilled about the session and don't want to get all prettied up on their day off. But not in this case. I think this Father had the most fun of all and his positive - and perhaps a tad silly - energy was contagious. And on a side note, to all the significant others who may not be thrilled about their family photo session, I promise it will be painless and you will head home afterwards with a smile on your face and memories to cherish.
Display Your Memories
Many clients opt for one large piece of wall art to show off in their home.
We recommend selecting a commonly used space in your home so that you can fully enjoy your art on a daily basis and for others to adore when they visit.
